Out in SLC for six days...Today was the first day and it was certainly a good one...The mountain reported 15" overnight which I would say is fairly accurate for Mid-mtn. There was probably about 2 ft at the top of 9990 and about ten inches at the base. Started the day on the Saddleback Express and skied The Pines...This is an awesome, open tree run. I then skied to the base of Tombstone and skied Paradise Bowl. This was an epic run with quite a few faceshots. After, I headed over to the new Iron Mountain lift. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the terrain off this lift as it has one longggg runout. I then poked around in the trees off Dreamscape and Dreamcatcher. Many untracked pockets still to be found in there. Afterwards, I ate lunch at the Cloud Nine Lodge, I had Chicken Pot Pie (Highly recommended). After lunch, I skied the Red Pine Chutes off of 9990. This is where I encountered the deepest snow on the mountain although it may not have been the best run I took. I finished up the day by skiing off of the Condor and Sun Peak lifts. It was here when I found the run "Sticks and Stones," it was absolutely awesome with untracked powder the whole way down. I finished the day around 2 pm. Tomorrow I will most likely ski one of the Cottonwood Canyon resorts...
