With day time temps less than 10 degrees the snow guns were blasting making cheap man made snow. Dot Nebel is now opened top to bottom. Tomahawk and expressway trails to and from Tomahawk lift are both opened so shuttle is no longer required. Snow guns blasting on Yahoo and Seneca. There is enough natural snow to ski on the closed trails if you don't mind getting some nice diggers in the bottom of your skis or board. A few more inches of natural would open up the entire mountain including Cathedral.

That would be lower seneca and lower yahoo and they are workin on deer run and should be almost to the bottom today

I was astonished how tracked out the closed trails got over the weekend (Tongora, Belleayre, upper Yahoo, even Cayuga and the old t-bar run). In fact, while on the chairlift I could see a patroller trying to divert people away from a closed run, but they were just blowing by him. I think he gave up after a while. I wasn't going to take any chances subjecting my new skis to possible dingers- all it takes is one errant stone to run your entire day.

Sorry to burst bubble but 4 inches is really dust on crust...Still alot of clear ice and edges of trails are rock solid

Yes but its the fist dusting all season. Too bad I couldn't make it out this morning. I hope others had fun in the dust as skidbump called it.

Damn skidbump, even the internet has you figured out! As for me, I'm thinking the 6" tonight into tomorrow on top of the 4 from today is going to be sweet. Powder skis are currently tucked into bed resting for tomorrow. It's about time!
