Vonn makes her own DH video - INCREDIBLE

I've never seen anything like this before. Lindsey herself put a Go Pro cam and ran a practice run last Wednesday for the St. Moritz downhill race. She uploaded it herself to Vimeo. It's incredible. I can hardly keep up with the film!!!

If anyone wants to know what "carving" and "holding an edge" looks like, this is near-perrfection.



If this doesn't persuade you that she is one of the best, nothing else will!

Impressive! The transitions from edge to edge are soooo smooth. She definitely gives those skis a workout too.
Looks like the camera was mounted just below her right knee as evidenced by the angle of the camera when the guy wipes her ski just before starting the run.

They have a pre-race video forerunner like that for pretty much every race on the WC on the live feed. They are all pretty cool to watch. I am sure they are not going all out like Lindsey but they tell you things about the course as he skis....in German or Austrian usually.

I watch those religiously. But that dude isn't going near as fast as LV. Plus, from a competitor's viewpoint, hearing the sounds (or lack thereof), focusing on the next gate and ignoring the peripherals is quite an experience. Reminds me of my race days.

That video belongs in IMAX. They had one once, but it was way too short.

I don't think so. Notice when Heinz cleans her skis. If it was on a leg, you'd be looking at the sky for one ski up. I think it's on her waist with one helluva a lense.
