Haven't they been doing that for a few years?
Skyeship - There's no longer a rental shop there.

What really sucks, is that they list the North Ridge trails as open, but don't provide a lift to reach them.
Yep used to be able to take High traverse? Where the stairway now is

Wow this is not good news.
The rental shop at Skyeship Base was flooded by Irene, but I would have imagined that they would have wanted to get it going again because of what has been said: it is a good location for Route 4 traffic and there is no other competition right there. I don't understand why North Ridge should be closed. Can't one get to the most of Bear via the Skye Peak Express?
Depends; there is a natural trail you can traverse to outer limits so you can ski 2/3 of that; upper part of Wildfire is only by Bear Quad and Devil's Fiddle would be only about 1/2 accessible with the traverse.
Thanks for the update Chris. The North Ridge Triple is scheduled to be open tomorrow and between the Canyon Quad and the North Ridge Triple, there will be a lift running 7 days a week in that area.
