Made a separate thread to discuss this.

Put in also Skyeship opening 1/2 hour after everything else opens. Such as shame that it's a good ski resort managed poorly. Also, I may be up there for other reasons later on this week and saw if Skyeship will have rentals for my friend (on Friday as they used to have a rental shop down there only open on Fri/Sat/Sun and holidays) as I thought I may be able to get some skiing in that way as anything within an hour of the 91/89 intersection would work. There's no longer a rental shop there. As an aside, MRG is trying to cut costs a bit too as they posted they will open 1/2 hour late until further notice.

I kind of understand the need to cut costs, but don't do it at the expense of the customers' experience especially for those who are paying rack rate for one day tickets. And I'm sure Skyeship is a big selling point for those who pay the $79 or $86 to ski at K for one day.

What really sucks, is that they list the North Ridge trails as open, but don't provide a lift to reach them.

Haven't they been doing that for a few years?

Bear chair and NRT always ran widweek. Canyon chair would run Fridays, closed rest of midweek.January midweek is usually slow, the other day there was less than 2000 people there, nice!

Wow this is not good news.

The rental shop at Skyeship Base was flooded by Irene, but I would have imagined that they would have wanted to get it going again because of what has been said: it is a good location for Route 4 traffic and there is no other competition right there. I don't understand why North Ridge should be closed. Can't one get to the most of Bear via the Skye Peak Express?

Depends; there is a natural trail you can traverse to outer limits so you can ski 2/3 of that; upper part of Wildfire is only by Bear Quad and Devil's Fiddle would be only about 1/2 accessible with the traverse.

You can ski 90% of the fiddle and OL from the traverse (OL EXPRESS) and skye quad. If you need that last bit, it's a 2-3 minute walk. Really.

I do recall them closing Bear Peak Quad actually now in the recent past, but North Ridge just is not a good idea. It's too bad Killington has come to this.

The North Ridge Triple is scheduled to be open tomorrow and between the Canyon Quad and the North Ridge Triple, there will be a lift running 7 days a week in that area.

Yes, but it was a BS move closing it, even with skier traffic so low this week. What were you guys thinking???
