Interesting that Cannon is going to open with Eaglecliff and Zoomer Lifts instead of the standard Peabody to either Ravine or Cannon. This gives them beginner area without tons of traffic going down the only open route. And Gary's and Zoomer have a ton more elbow room side to side and also benefit from being shorter (less snow making needed to cover them). That also gets them closer to getting the tram going sooner. I'd rather ski Zoomer lift than Peabody Quad any ways. And if there is a freak early powder day, they have some of the best early season thin cover terrain at Zoomer as well. But that will make expanding the main mountain take a lot longer. There will actually be a line for Zoomer unlike the Peabody. Some positives, a few negatives.

Makes sense to blow Rocket ASAP to spread out the crowds. A full zoomer triple dumping out onto Gary's isn't going to suffice past maybe opening weekend. Even that might not be enough terrain. At least Cannon or Rocket top to bottom spreads skiers and riders out along a lot of top to bottom area. But they need to get that Quad open ASAP to expand.

Can't wait for Cannon to expand its snow making firepower... they really need to be able to expand faster. In favorable snow making conditions, they should be entering December with Cannon/Ravine off the Quad AND Rocket/Zoomer off Zoomer. They shouldn't just be choosing between one or the other.

you see, this is what blows so much about the west. Here I was with a brilliant plan to do a multisport day and this happens...

Late Afternoon Snow. Steady temperature around 31. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tonight Snow. Low around 27. Breezy, with a southwest wind 21 to 26 mph decreasing to 14 to 19 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Saturday A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Southwest wind 10 to 14 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Now all I get to do is board on a foot of fresh. Wtf Wasatch.
