They seem pretty low tech compared to some of the converted mtn bike rigs people are using now.

One of my friends had one of these when we were kids. We would take it to the local sledding hill. No one could really keep the thing upright when turning. Flat lining was all we could achieve, however we didn't know you needed ski boots with out rigger skis..

We actually tied the thing to a boat in the summer and one of my friends tried to water ski it, it just sank.

I agree, some of the newer ones are all full suspension and everything. This actually has you wearing tiny little skis on your feet, almost like those sled dog things.

I've seen kids on them at Jay Peak the last few years. It honestly doesnt look like that much fun to me other than the first few times. The handlebars dont do anything, it's basically skiing in a seated position.

Saw a couple riding something very similar at Black MT, NH on Tuesday. They were on a narrow trail cutting some pretty sharp turns. I came upon the first one pretty fast and the sight of it stopped me in my tracks. I involuntarily shouted "That thing is crazy!" I talked with them for a minute and they said they had a third that I could try but I wasn't up for it.

Well, strange enough, I saw people in what looked like just ski boots but they were riding down the mountain at a pretty good clip.
