The other guy looks like he doesn't appreciate the kiss from her.
The fact that this is even news makes me very very sad......
Not going to dispute that podium girls is a relic from a different age that has somehow been kept going strong as a tradition. Someone else pointed out that Euro has different sensibilities than the USA but USA races also feature podium girls. I wouldn't call it a double standard. Models should be able to do their job without unwanted groping. Just because it is their job to look pretty and plant a peck on a check doesn't mean that they are inviting sexual harassment. But I will agree that podium girls are kinda an oddity in modern sport and really not needed.Agreed that it's harassment and in our real working lives, we'd probably be sent packing. On the other hand, there's kind of a double standard going on here. These attractive women are paraded out on stage like pieces of meat to grope the winner of the race. What's the point?
Political correction is the US way, funny thing is like Hunter Thompson quote is what is says between 9-5 hours is never the truth can probably be put to use here.who cares? if she didn't like it, she could have just smacked him or told him to f off. seems like you can't have any fun without having to apologize for it later.
bvibert, haha on the pic! hopefully it doesn't offend anyone. maybe you should issue an apology now, just in case.
Not making excuses for the dude's actions, but when these girls are paraded out like pieces of meat, does it surprise people that occasionally they're going to get treated like pieces of meat by athletes who are on the immature side and have inflated egos?
I would say in many cases they (the girls) embrace it. They love the attention. As a woman, I appreciate the fact that men out there recognize the oversexualization of some things, and condemn it, however, remember there are many women out there who love it - they love being the center of attention. There's a reason it's still so prevalent.
