Well like the article says it's only spread by blood contact, and sounds like the CDC and hospital is being extremely cautious. With that said, that stuff scares the s%*@ out of me. I was only 9 years old when I read the hot zone and I remember having to read the part of the book that describes the symptoms in detail in different sections because it was too much to read at once. So hindsight being 20/20 if something did happen, which is probably very unlikely, yes it was a terrible, terrible idea.

He went to africa to treat this disease. He knew of the dangers and how to properly treat it, and how not to get it. Yet he still did. So what's to stop the new caregivers from getting it?

My Point exactly! Maybe they don't know as much about the disease as they think they do . Rumors about someone in England dying of ebola ,after getting of a plane today.

Small pox did a number on the native american population with little contact.

Yes and no. I don't know what kind of biohazard equipment he was using in Africa when treating it. We don't even know where he got it from, a patient or the environment where it might have gotten in through a wound. While I don't like the idle of him being in the states, I'm hoping the CDC and hospital being extra cautious will keep it under wraps. Or there will be hell to pay!!
