I've only seen this happening in Vermont. Has it spread beyond there?

I think the pass holder thing is pretty cool but I don't blame a mountain for skipping it. The business is tough enough without turning away paying customers.

I think it's a good idea. It's not like all that many people are interested in paying $$$ to ski the WROD to begin with. But for passholders it's a "free" day from their perspective, and for the mountain they're rewarding that significant investment in a season pass (which many don't fully realize) with an additional, albeit small, perk to boost SPH satisfaction (and hopefully retention).

Not surprising.

They announced an open date of 11/21 2 weeks ago and they usually try to allow for a passholder Friday if they can.

I tried talking our local hill into doing this. No go on that. Think its a great thing to offer season pass holders.
