Word on the street is Indy just told ski areas they are reducing payouts to mountains significantly on a per visit basis.
Is the percentage of revenue paid to the areas decreasing? I was always under the impression that 85 percent of the Indy revenue went to the ski areas. As visits increase, the per day payments would decrease. Simple math. Now if the percentage paid out is going down that could piss off some of the areas and force a decision stay or go. Anyway, I re-upped for next year.

I've noticed something wonky with the magic thread as well. It shows up under new posted, but the default forum page it disappears.

In other news, in the four days since I unsubscribed from Indy, they have hit me with something like 8-10 emails and at least 6 texts. No one likes a breakup but lay off me.

In regards to the overall payout, they claim 85 percent but no one can prove its true from the ski area side.

Seems four major mountains are leaving Indy for Ikon:
Snowriver, MI
Lutsen, MN
Granite Peak, WI
Tamarack, ID

I’d put those right up there with the loss of PowMow. Hopefully Indy has some more significant additions to replace them.

For Tamarack, if it's only two days for a full Ikon, I wonder if they'll remain on the Indy still. I've skied 4 days there in the last two seasons, none were busy at all.

From what I've heard from Buck Hill and Midwest Family Ski Resorts, once you make a deal with Ikon, you are out with Indy. It's an either or situation, not both.
