Got in a morning session at Wachusett today. It was uncrowded, overcast, not much wind, and around 30 degrees.
They made a lot of snow the last few days and had Conifer open from the summit. Coverage was pretty thick in most places on the open trails, but there were some half width areas on the trails. I think they don't want to spread it all out to preserve it in case it rains.
Conditions were pretty much the same on all the open trails.
The snow was firm, but edged okay, and they'd gotten about 1" of natural overnight, so conditions were decent. It was my first day out, so my legs did not last very long. I'm coming off a back injury so I was testing to see if that was going to hurt, but it felt okay, and hopefully will not be sore tomorrow.
They hadn't spread snow in the base area, so you had to walk between the lifts unless you wanted to destroy your bases. Not much snow on Tenth yet.
