Conditions: frozen PP and frozen powder early day soft in the afternoon
TR: We started our trip to Banff by skiing Lake Louise. Our first impressions were a little mixed after fist chair on Monday. Trails were very firm but skied well and we're fast. Very New England like. But the similarities ended there. The runs are on and this ski.area makes Sugarloaf feel small. The front side is line a northeast resort in steroids and the backside .... well nothing compares the pics will tell the story. The backside offered fields of bumps and in some areas boot deep powder. The drops on the back side were challenging and some we did not even attempt. However, once temps increased we opted for mostly backside skiing. Front side has some very nice runs and were mostly cruisers. One thing I found was that a blue trail here can rival some black trails at Cannon for example such as zoomer. So far our most fun but Sunshine is our focus on Thursday. Friday will be one or the other.
