Good snow, great variety of terrain and incredible coverage. Skiing was excellent this weekend up at Stratton. Although they did not receive the deeper up-slope snows like areas further north, Stratton with it's high elevation got just enough to aid the surface conditions and help bolster the impressive snowmaking assault. Since last weekend the available terrain has tripled and this is not on natural snow or and barely covered snowmaking trails that will chew up that brand new snow sliding implement. Pretty much every open trail is covered edge to edge and with a deep enough machine made base that I did not hit or see any bogeys lurking on the hill. Crowds were relatively lacking albeit for the morning rush and racers heading up first thing in the morning. If the weather stays as predicted, Stratton will be in great shape for the holidays with the majority of the mountain opened up including some action in the trees. The woods are not ready yet but getting closer. Here's some pictures.........
