That's because while they may have 4-Wheel Drive and can go like hell in the snow, they forget that EVERY vehicle has 4-Wheel Brakes and the little front drive car is easier to stop on snow or ice than a 2-ton behemouth! : )
Did you know the Cadillac Escallade behemoth, perhaps the largest out there, has the worst safety record/highest injury rate and lowest gas mileage of any SUV? Sure, I'd love to pay a premium price for those "features"

was at stratton this past weekend. it was brutally cold but atleast it was snowing heavily on saturday and sunday afternoon. I don;t know what they officially say they got but my observation was about 8-12 inches in spots.

brutal windchill though, it blew most of the snow into the woods by saturday afternoon to reveal boilerplate underneath. lots of loose snow ontop of hard crust. glad I got my skies waxed and sharpened!

The largest is the Ford Excursion. Not sure about safety record, but with a V-10 it has to get the the worst mileage. 10 city, 13 highway, 8 if you pull a trailer.

My favorite line is "But I had it in 4WD" as they are climbing out of the snow bank.

Oh yea, they say 24" @ the Bush, I say with the wind 0" to 30".

Stratton Rocked!!!

Got to Stratton on Saturday around 10:30 after a long, slow slog out Rt. 7. Parked in the Sun Bowl and immediately headed over to Kidderbrook. Wow...it was nice to ski boot-deep pow!!! Next lap we hit Free Fall which had some sweet knee-deep drifts. We never left those 2 slopes for the rest of the day. The woods were boney and we turned back after just a couple of turns. All in all though, it was an amazing day of lapping the Kidderbrook area.
