Hey there...I couldn't find the thread about this...actually, may not have been in this forum. I am aware of SOS pass, threedom and granite passes around new england...ANY idea about Kmart/Pico or River/Loaf. I have until tomorrow, with a budget, to pull the trigger. Do you think any of the other places will come out with something tomorrow to try to get last minute people away from SOS?

hey,
I know a thread was posted earlier however I simply cannot find it. Last year there was the college breakout pass (Gunstock-cannon-sunapee). Any idea if this pass is being sold again this year? I simply cannot find the pass anywhere! I found a Sunapee-Okemo-Stratton pass for college students.

Any ideas on where to look? Or any other really good season pass deals for college students living in NH??

Theres the threedom pass to loon, waterville, and cranmore for college students for $249. No blackout dates, so its not a bad deal.

I would expect the breakout pass to happen again. Last year sugarbush had a good student season pass, don't know if it will repeat (but it isn't nh). Cannon does student day ticket discounts too, so you could do the threedom and then just hit up cannon -- out of pocket-- on a pow day.

Price isn't really that bad...less than 10 days...PAID. 17 blackout dates aren't that big a deal to me. Didn't miss those holiday periods w/ my A41 pass, I had 14 black outs then. Crowds on holiday periods are horrible anyways. Seeing as I live less than an hour from these places, seems worth it to me! Besides, the 5 or 6 times at Kmart this year were not fun for the GF and I (waaaay too crowded)...I don't see a reason to get kmart pass...but Pico I will certianly miss on a regular basis. Depending on what the river has, may look into that as well.

If you think Killington was crowded you're going to be quite suprised by the hordes at Okemo and Stratton on the weekends.... with less places to put them and less secondary lifts than Killington as well.

That is one of the best parts about K....no matter how many people are there, you can always find an uncrowded lift (SRT when it's running, Canyon Quad, Snowdon Triple...), and an uncrowded trail/woods area.

Here in Maine, at Sunday River and Sugarloaf specifically, we have no passes and thus are currently blacked-out for 180+/- days, but on the other hand, it's free!

Have only done Stratton on w/e's and didn't find it too horrid. There have always been crowds, but I didn't need to worry about being slammed into by 14 people on the way down. I agree with what someone said here or in another post...think that stratton gets a little too much flack. I have never been to okemo. Will actually have some earned time this year so midweek skiing is more possible. I hear that Sunapee is a nice place as well. I am hoping that next year I'll be working out near portsmouth and I'll just get a river or hopefully river/loaf pass.
