Personally, I think it's too long. He should have the felony convictions on his record, have to pay the $45 million fine, and spend about 5 years in prison. That way, when he comes out, he'll be broke and unemployable. Make him live the way his former employees are now, thanks to him. I don't see any reason we should have to pay for his room and board any longer than that. See how much he likes working at a minimum wage job.

The public perception that we don't treat white collar crime seriously enough required a stiff sentence. Especially since Mrs. Lay gets to reap the benefits of Kenny Boys demise.

I would rather enjoy paying for his room and board. he is so freaking rich that putting him in a simple mansion would be like prision...but i know that instead he is in a country club fed pen. It sounds stupid, but it all needs to be in persepctive, he will be miserable for the next 8 years while he serves 1/3 of his sentence before parole.

There is NO punishment fitting for this greed hog who literally destroyed the lives of those who worked for yrs and trusted Enron enough to invest their life savings .

Skilling and all the other greedy corporate pigs who screwed their employees and investors can rot in jail and maybe he'll end up as somebody's "girlfriend' while there -

I started the thing, and I've read it several times that way. Where are our minds?

Gotta say, there is a punishment fitting Skilling's crimes- poverty. Make him work for a living. Yes, running a corporation (even into the ground) is hard, but you get paid seriously for it. Flipping burgers at McDonald's isn't exactly easy, either, and the pay is a hell of a lot lower. He should be left broke with no prospects when he gets out of jail. See how he likes living on minimum wage with no health insurance. Hell, you can get used to prison- you know where your next meal is coming from, you don't have to worry about paying the light bill, feeding your kids, paying the mortgage (if you can even get one), keeping the heat on, or any of that. Maybe he'll get cornholed every now and again, but there are a lot of people (some of them probably ex Enron employees) who would prefer that to worrying about whether they can feed their kids.

I just hope there's some huge guy named Bubba sharing his cell who's in prison for robbing a convenience store to feed his kids.

24-years in prison when your 50 is a life sentance... having built a number of them and understanding how they operate, I've determined living in prison is the worst the thing that can happen to a person...I'd bet Skilling's more concerned about the $40-million right now...
