DOVER, Vermont -- This December, the Mount Snow Valley will be celebrating Santa with a weekend full of fun activities for all ages. The main event on Saturday at noon will be a short "Pledge Walk" around the base of Mount Snow. We are asking the public to get pledges from their friends for heat assistance. Those with pledges of $10 or more will receive a Santa ID card good for discounts throughout the valley and a passport for the Scavenger Hunt. Those with pledges of $50 or more will receive a free Santa suit (while supplies last).
The weekend will start with a kick off party at the Matterhorn Inn in West Dover on Friday, December 12th. The Walk starts on Saturday at the Grand Summit Hotel where there will be an Arts & Crafts Fair. Those in Santa suits will also be eligible for $25 off skiing/riding at Mount Snow. There will also be a Gingerbread House Exhibit and Snowman Contest.
Saturday night will be a Charity Dinner & Dancing with a "Vermont Experience" Auction. A plated dinner and live music from Peter Miles and The High Road will compliment this interesting and unusual auction.
A portion of the proceeds of this event will go to Deerfield Valley Community Cares, a local organization that supports working families and seniors with fuel assistance during the colder months. Last year they helped 57 families with almost $40,000.
This event is brought you by Celebrate the Valley Inc. and sponsored in part by the Dover Economic Development Committee. If you would like more information, you can contact James at (802) 380-8297 or visit our web page www.walkofthesantas.com.
