Have a link?

Looks like a nasty pileup on 93N near exit 24. 93 North is closed.

Holy moley, 50-100 cars. Why is there that much traffic northbound on a Friday morning?

Holiday week. No one in school.

I wonder how Cannon is looking with the 3-4 inches of snow that fell last night.

Lots of skiing/snowboarding traffic! I was seeing many roof racks loaded up!

I passed through that area on my way to work this morning shortly before that happened. There was a snow squall that was literally blinding snow. However, I have to say, there were assholes who felt it was ok to fly down the fast lane - would not be surprised if this is how this happened.

I just pulled the posts as quotes from this thread: http://forums.alpinezone.com/showthread.php/134562-New-England-Conditions-Roundup-for-vacation-week

Glad that nobody seems seriously hurt, but wow... My new habit is when it starts to get nasty out on the roads, I just pull over now. No need to rush to get somewhere and put your life at risk. Couple weeks ago, going up the Spaulding turnpike by 93 nasty squalls were breaking out... Ended up pulling over and waiting them out off the highway. Not worth the risk to get creamed by people who don't do well driving in the snow.

Assuming you mean near 95 not 93. When say pull over you mean exit the highway not just hanging in the breakdown lane correct?

I read yes:

I usually use the opportunity to use the rest area facilities or top of the gas tank. Kill more than one bird with one stone

I just missed this pileup this morning. Glad I dragged my ass out of bed and hit the road early. Road was fine at 8.

According to WMUR, the accident included 35 vehicles. It was near Exit 24 on I-93 which is the Bristol exit. 6 were taken to the hospital; 4 were treated and released and one is on the critical list.

An update: I don't know if I got it wrong yesterday or today's report was modified.
1. No life threatening injuries at this point
2. Of the 12 (not 6) taken to hospitals, 10 were treated and released.
3. One was in critical condition and was evacuated to Dartmouth/Hitchcock Hospital
4. One in fair condition was treated and is at the hospital in Concord, NH.

thanks JS. There was a lot of bad info (including my title) floating around, as the story developed.

Not to quarrel, but critical condition is "life threatening" in my book.

Critical: Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. Patient may be unconscious. Indicators are unfavorable.

source: AHA's "General Guide for the Release of Information on the Condition of Patients"

...
I just quoted what the reporter said and I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that the one reported in critical condition yesterday had improved by this AM.
