...Just went on the site and saw I'm still eligible for a youth pass next year which is only $269. Under that it says purchase the pass now and I can ski free the rest of this year. I can take advantage of that on AZ day when I'm up there as well as maybe a day during April vacation. I'm glad I noticed that... I would've spent $500+ on a college pass next year had I not seen that.

I'm officially psyched now. College can't come soon enough... just have an entire summer to get through.

I hope Castlerock makes it through this extended warm stretch we're having. If the base at Sugarbush is anything like it is at Stowe, it should be fine I'd imagine. Just hope that southeastern exposure on these 40+ degree days doesn't give the cover much of a fight.

Anyway, can't wait 2 weeks till AZ day... should be a cornfest. Hopefully it gets a good turnout because discussion in the T&E thread seems to be a bit slow...

Ski Resort Management?
Its a great program.

PS- you should still get a burke pass they're only 200 for college students

Nah... Meteorology program. And I am still planning on a Burke pass so I can put in a couple hours there every morning. Sugarbush will probably mainly be weekends. Can't believe I'll have these 2 areas for a season for less than $500... unreal. Now I just need to hope for a 2000-2001 repeat.

That was my last year of college and I dug my old Jetta out of 27 inches of snow at an elevation of under 300 feet in Burlington..the town meeting storm rocked and that was a great ski season..

Anyway Zand...enjoy this exciting time..

Lucky bastard!
Wish I could get a pass for that much. Unfortunately I'm not 17. :-?
Fortunately I'm not over 80 either!

Why do you say "spent $500+ on a college pass"? SB's college pass with full access, if bought before the November 1st or October deadline, last season was about $315.

At any rate, I will be doing the Mount Ellen Plus as of right now.....so I will see you up there next season.

Is it really? Wow... thats good news for beyond next year then. I was thinking of a possibility of alternating between the Bush and Stowe (Stowe's college pass is something like $450), but that's quite a bit cheaper. I guess I'll see.

Yes my friend. You are in for four years of cheap passes. Enjoy it! The price you probably saw was the post-deadline "sucker" price that nobody pays. SB last season had College Passes for Mount Ellen in the $200ish range up to their top-of-the line pass at $315 IIRC. Also check out the "NH College Breakout" Pass through Cannon/Gunstock/Sunapee. When I was in law school in 2005, it was $199. No blackouts. Now it is like $230. But Cannon has a shorter season than SB, but is closer and easier to get from LSC. Many options.

And be sure to PM me when you ski SB.

Most expensive College Pass is Stowe at like $450.

That was another option too. However, from what I've heard, Jay isn't anything amazing when the snow isn't great and Bolton is more of an imtermediate hill. And then there's MRG, which I don't want to have to trust natural snow to get there early season (because you never know when 2007 comes back to haunt you).

Plus, I'll take Sugarbush next year when it's the only year I can get it that cheap, then I'll have to pick from Sugarbush again, Triple Major, or Stowe after that. Such a bad dilemma, having too many top notch resorts to choose from. ;)

Definitely considering a Mad Card next year so I can hit MRG a few times. And I can get into Jay cheaper with a Burke pass (and Wachusett pass for that matter) so not much of a problem there.

Ahhh... we have a future Jim Cantore in the works

Regarding coverage, most trails still have good to excellent coverage on them. Sunrise on North Lynx is starting to get some thinning. Castlerock Lift Line looked "sketchy" to say the least, though C'Rock Run and Middle Earth looked okay... from top of Super Bravo. Not sure of the Connection turn near the base of the lift, or the runout. Snow has been softening up really nice leading to some great turns. It's been cold enough at night so the groomers are able to hit the hill. Going down an ungroomed run, stay on the "sunny side".
