I'm leaving for Tremblant on Friday and I've got a 13 hour bus ride to look forward to ( 3:30 p.m to 5:00 am. Yippee). I've got two pairs of skis that I've managed to fit into a single pair soft shell bag and I need advice on the best way to protect my skis. Right now I'm thinking I should pack my jacket and ski pants in with my skis, maybe wrapping my jacket around one pair and pants around the other. Any other suggestions?

Get some big old rubber bands and tie your skis together, with the bases touching. That'll prevent your bases from getting scratched up. Then wrap your ski pants around your skis as best you can, along with whatever clothes you'll be taking. Socks, long underwear, fleeces -- I've jammed quite a bit into ski bags. You're going by bus, so you don't have to worry about the TSA people trying to repack your bags. I'd keep your jacket unpacked. I assume the bus will be stopping once or twice along the way, and it would be nice to have your jacket when you step outside.

Here is a tip....

Last time I did that, my ski jacket got all dirty. Unless or course you keep your skis real clean. I thought mine were pretty clean.
Wrap your clothes in bunch of leftover plastic shopping bags, or garbage bags to protect them.
Have fun. Tremblant is a blast. The Edge is awesome....especially the glades.....

Moving to gear since this is pretty gear related, and it's where we've put discussions like this in the past.
