Prove your days this season :)

Based on some of our feedback from last year, AlpineReplay implemented Groups into their application.

I created an AlpineZone group for us so we can track our statistics on this site.

AZ WILL be giving out schwag at the end of the year to those who top leaderboards .... metrics still TBD but I wanted to announce it before the season started so everyone had a fair shake of getting in on the action.

Here's a link --> http://www.alpinereplay.com/groups/alpinezone

I like that they did this before the season started. You guys still have time to get a smartphone :)

Alternatively, you can track with an Excel spreadsheet outlining trails, top speed, total distance covered, (just kidding.... that would be a nightmare).

I wonder if they have a way to import GPS data from some other GPS device like a Garmin watch or similar.

I'm not sure actually. I haven't tried the groups yet so of course there is always the possibility it doesn't work well and my whole plan for merit-based awards will blow out the window

Hmmm... does it allow everyone onthe group to see the routes travelled? Might see some stashes get blown:uzi:

This is a VERY good point. It does show routes. Also, if you are travelling by that type of route you generally wont' have a prayer of making AR leader boards since they are mostly speed-based measures. So this should be a fun game for those who like to rip T2B high speed all day. But not great for those who travel off the beaten path. Still, it sounds like a pretty good idea Nick!

Just joined.....now I need to go ride.

Still not sold on taking the iphone with me. I usually leave the electronics in the car.

Hmm.. Probably not though there's no reason why it shouldn't be able to. There's another thread here somewhere that the developer of the app opsted a couple of replies in. Maybe you coul ask him.

Anybody having issues with this app recently? I used it last year and found it to be pretty cool. This year it has been very unstable and quirky. At the end of the day I often can't get it to close out properly. It keeps asking me how my day was but won't move on to any other screens. Off the hill (at home) it keeps randomly starting up and saying "syncing" even when there is nothing to sync and I really don't want it using phone resources. I'm pretty close to uninstalling.

Yes I have had issues with it. It never started at my day at Stowe and then after lunch, it didn't reinitiate. At Sugarbush it shorted me 4 runs.

HOwever at 7 Springs last Saturday, it worked perfectly fine.

I have noticed it is syncing alot, even when the application is not running.

It worked fine for me Friday at Killington. Was the first time I used it though.

I always forget to turn this on when I hit the mountain. I'm determined to remember for this weekend!
