AlpineZone - Forum Upgrade Mega Thread

Some quick tips - you can "install" AlpineZone as an app on your computer of phone.

Good now. What was really weird was that I could see it when I wasn't logged in (I generally keep the skiing forum open in one tab in my browser and just refresh that), but once I logged in, it told me I didn't have permissions to see the skiing forum! So a guest could see it, but a registered user couldn't!

it's the way permissions are handled, they older az summit group was setup denied permissions. I have to recreate those groups later still.

for you Tapatalk users - you can Install AZ on your phone by just clicking "Add to Home Screen"

Tapatalk is dead, it won't work on this site at all any longer.

so for android so far it's working great , it runs just like a native app . you can install on desktop also.

Hey Nick - i'm slow this morning. I used to use the old (original) AZ app on iphone. what should i be using now on iphone? old app is just blank (no content) so i assume that's not the way.

Yes , you should just be able to save forums.alpinezone.com to your home screen.let me me know how it works (I don't have a iPhone to test it)

ok, got it. basically on iphone (perhaps andriod too) there is no "app". we're just using the browser. can add an icon (a browser short cut ) to home screen on phone if want to or just use bookmarks within the browser. right?

yes that one has to be shut down. I've got quite a bit of work this week. I will try to push the mobile version of the site to the app store also
