Hooked up with Kingslug today at Alta. Ira was just coming off a grueling three day Avi Course so he was dogging it a bit. That was fine with me since I have only skied 8 days this season since returning from two months on the east coast to spend time with my daughter and my new grandson. I am also still rehabing from having my aortic valves replaced three months ago. In any case, a predicted 2"-4" turned into an all day snow event that officially measured 9" before we left, but as always, turned out to be much more wherever the wind and terrain created deeper pockets. We started about 10:30 AM and by 1:00 PM the snow was falling so hard that our tracks were filling in. We had a great time in the chutes under the Supreme lift, and ended the day around 3:30 PM knee deep in the powder filling the chutes in the area served by the Wildcat lift. It is always fun to spend a day with my friends from the East. I'm in my fourth ski season here in the west since moving from NY and enjoying every minute. I'm glad the AZ'ers have had some terrific dumps this season despite the inconvenience those storms have created for the East in general.
