I try to make the best of it and do work inside the home. At least when I have a good weekend, I know I really deserve to enjoy it. Guilt free pleasure is priceless to me.

With all this rain we may need an ark. What do you want to bet though, despite all this rain, by mid-July there will be some water bans in effect.
Right now the water is so high on the banks that it looks as if they can't take much more.

Funny thing is around here, we haven't really gotten all that much rain until today. Probably less than an inch for the whole month so far...

last i heard, most of new england has had less rain than usual for the month of may. but man, the little we have had has been spread out pretty well! i can't remember the last day it hasn't been at least partially cloudy up here and it has seemed to rain or threaten rain at least every other day. what i wouldn't give right now for a cloudless and sunny weekend!

I don't mind the rain, heck, I just planted a ton of grass seed to try to repair massive grub damage. Its the cold that I'm sick of. Not even going to hit 60 F this week. Thats like 15 below normal.

The forecast is for Rain through Thursday. :(
This weather is driving me crazy. Hope for good summer weather.

I just bit the bullet and went for a hike in the rain on Sunday. The dog didn't seem to mind, and I found it rather enjoyable.

I'm just hoping for a nice Memorial Day weekend. I don't get too many extra days off in the summer so I'd like to make this extended weekend count.

Are there any weather geeks out there who can explain this rotten pattern here in the Northeast? I saw something a few days ago about a persistent high pressure system in Greenland that could cause us to have a lousy summer - ??? When is this going to break?

I need some sunshine, y'all.......

Does anyone have a map that shows the overall jet stream pattern? I can't find one...

I think last night was the first rain I have seen around here for a while. My pool cover was dry yesterday and I was contemplating opening it, but will wait a few more weeks.

I don't like the rain...but what I really hate is the COLD. I mean, if it's not going to snow it might as well be 75. This constant "50 degrees and drizzling" is getting very old. Even 50-60 degrees and sunny is not helping me break out the tank tops and shorts.

Yet my poor skis have been slumbering for weeks now!

That's good to hear. While I do find hiking/walking in the rain strangley soothing...I think I've had enough of it in the past few weeks. (to last me the entire summer!)

I-95(heading north of Bangor to Millinocket, ME.) passes over a few streams and rivers. Those streams & rivers that normally follow their streambeds have now consumed fair-sized stretches of the lower-level ground of the highway's meridian strip...creating interesting flatwater sections. Now if only I could only locate a ~5lb brown, brooktrout, or salmon(atlantic or landlocked) in those flats. My #4wt Winston flyrod is always in the backseat! :D
I'm heading up in the AM to take a look at the area from Millinocket..westward to the North Branch(Penobscot)... Arrggh, gotta wait a few weeks for the new job $$$...and camera $$$. From Greenville(Moosehead L.)& areas northward..in the last 24hrs...it has just been cloudy(for the most part)...with bands of rain passing to the south, but showers are all around the place. :p
