I'm a little scared. Hope they don't expect me to stick around if there's a powder day.

That'll give you the opportunity to explain to them ski rule #1: no friends on powder days

I learned that before pizza/french fry

Blue Hills, MA - 60 skiable acres, season pass-$349

Copper Mtn OR Winter Park, CO - 2465 and 3081 skiable acres(respectively), season pass-$389 for either (I think it was $349 before the season began too)

I'd imagine Coppers margins are pretty thin from season pass sales vs operating costs for those season pass holders. Completion makes some great deals for Colorado residents, but I imagine it makes it harder for these resorts to be in the black.

I am NOT complaining though. :)

Someone smarter than me should crunch numbers between colorado and Utah resorts. Colorado combines ski areas together for AMAZING deals (collection season pass under $1,000) while Utah (as far as I know) does not, and most season passes, for just one area, are close to or over $1,000

I don't ski Stowe and Killington is expensive but it's worth it if you can find a deal.

Otherwise I think places like Pico Magic Bromley Bolton Valley Smugglers and even Mt Snow I guess have fair enough ticket prices.

Sugarbush is a little taxed but Mt Ellen prices are good.

Liftopia and Mountain Sports Club membership helps.

I believe there is a direct linear relationship between amusement park attendance and the BMI of the population.

Generally agree, but I was shocked this past September when the vast majority of people at Disney (my 1st time) were in pretty good shape to really good shape. Same thing with a water park in Tampa.

FWIW, I'm not really into the park thing (can enjoy a couple of days, would kill myself if it was all week), but Disney does an amazing job of keeping things clean and putting a theme around each ride - even for the lines.

Skiing vs. Parks - so different. I'd like to see a place like Belleayre raise their price to $90. I'll can tell you what will happen. On the other hand, some of the places in PA are so overcrowded that it seems like they should raise prices.

That just means that more mom's and dad's will fork over the extra few bucks when their kids beg and plead with them to take them to Mount Snow so they can ski and ride the unsurpassed in the East park set ups at Carinthia and Mount Snow gets closer to getting the BIG amount of working capital they need now to make their BIG West Lake snowmaking upgrade project happen ;)
