I know when I was growing up, that's just the way it was.

Me too, and it's true for most of our peers too.

So it baffles me why so many of our peers have wandered down the road of plastic money. Sure, I have credit cards...2 of them. And if I use one, I pay it off at the end of the month.

Since we've been so good about keeping this societal and not political, I think I know why so many abuse credit. American society treats you like a fool if you don't have and use/abuse a million credit cards.

Try getting a mortgage to buy a house if you don't use credit cards.

You mean you didn't work the salt mines as a kid?

I don't know what you mean anyway, my father is still trying to have a 93rd trimester abortion on what my mother calls her "favorite mistake."

I appreciate your unique perspective...and believe me I understand why people with no desire to have kids feel the way they do about these fundraisers. For that matter, about having to pay school taxes.

In your case, someone has to be around to take care of you when you're old and drooling in your beer.

If your're not already.

You are quite right, I do feel slighted paying property taxes knowing how much is going to the schools. I've tried to sit in on classes too with just that argument and they don't let me stay. I don't know why.

As for old and drooling, well, if I don't die young, my savings, 401k and healthy pension package will have to suffice. I actually plan on having enough to pay a cute nurse in a tight white uniform to take care of me when I get to the age that the ass grabbing can be pawned off under dementia.

And you're right, I already drool in my beer as it is.

Most schools are uptight about the drooling in the beer thing.
