Is this true? Posted before about Ascutney. How is there snowmaking? Still going to try the mountain when they open to see what they got. See how the new snowmaking manager can make snow and groom. Is it worth a try. Web page still has nothing on a opening day any one heard?

They have one of the stupidest early season plans around. They always open from midstation down with lower exhibition and the plunge. They eventually add cloudspin to the top, then the beginner area followed by snowdance (upper and lower) and finally the quad to the top. Expect the snowmaking to be a little better as they have someone new running the operations instead of the owner who feels the mountain has been using the wrong type of nozzles at the ned of the guns for a long time. I highly suggest hitting Ascutney after a nor-easter or any type of snowstorm because the glades from the top can't be beat. Also not a bad idea during the holiday week if they are open to the summit by then because the longest line i've ever waited in was 5 minutes. I don't think they are making the white stuff yet but who knows. My parents own a condo on the mountain but we will no be going up for Thanksgiving this year so I'll be no help in that regard.
Edit: Any other questions feel free to ask!!

Went by Ascutney today

They had snowmaking guns running. Looks like they have snow made from mid mountain down on a few trails. Headed for Okemo 2morrow. Heard Ascutney may open Sat. Going to check it out on the way home Sun. to see what they have. If any one happens to go there let me know how it is. Upper mountain looks like it has some nice trails. Family wants to try it this year.

I'm up at Ascutney right now, it's lightly snowing and they are making snow mostly in the beginner area and on some lower mountain intermediate trails. They are still only open from mid-station down. I'll try to take some pics tomorrow just for fun.
