Hmm, wonder how that patent of his is working out? Although they are doing something similar on skiing glaciers in europe.

Gotta find that crop tool on the scanner!

Cool stuff, keep em coming! :-D

Wow. You would think with 21 years to perfect that foil strip technology we would all be skiing on this fine summer day.

Jiminy Peak used to have something similar in the mid/late 80's that i believed the called "sno-coat" or soemthign to that extent. Basically, on their major early season trails (mainly 360 and 180 back in the day), you'd see big orange rolls on the side of the trail (similar looking to the tarps you see rolled up for use at professional sports stadiums today). When a "warm weather liquid event" would arise, they'd rolll the tarps out across the snow to act as both a thermal blanket and also prevent the "immature snow" from eating away at the early season man-made base.

Problem was if memory serves me correctly that the labor costs assocaited with rolling out the tarps and the rerolling them back up out wieghed the snow-loss and delay in restarting of the snowmaking system upon the return of cold weather.

Never heard that term.

Hysterical

I believe it was the folks at Sugarbush in the marketing dept that coined that term during this past December/January. I'd love to take full credit, but I've got to give the credit where it's due! And yes, I loved that term from the minute I first read it too!

I heard the term years ago, I believe in a Killington report over the radio. It had to be at least a dozen years ago.
