Any suggestions?

I did some brief research and saw the S1 being really good, but it's also $560. I know you cannot put a price on life... but damn I can't afford that.

Ebay has a BCA Tracker DTS Avalanche Beacon Transceiver it comes with probe and shovel for $300. Any reason to be against this package?

Better yet, anyone have an extra they were looking to get rid of?

No, that's a good package. I have a BCA Tracker and know many others who do too.
I say go for it.

BCA's are fine. The newer ones are even better and easier to use.
