We didn't have a good night. The course was on FIS and started off straight and fast then got extremely tight, not my kind of course. First run pole got caught in the start ramp, spun me around and lost pole and glove, ended up missing a gate. Second run had a hard time with the cranky turns, nothing smooth about that course.

One entertaining aspect was on the first run Ga2ski got spanked by a gate and cried like a baby. His wife needs to beat him some more to toughen him up.

While not a good night for the team, I turned in some decent results and had my highest individual finish at 10th overall. ga2ski gets props for getting to the mountain, turning in two runs, and not puking on the course despite being sick. This was the first race I topped ga2ski's times, on both courses no less, but no victory for me there with ga2ski not feeling well. I wish I had my edges sharpened for this race (they have 10 days since the last sharpen as I recall) as despite two good runs, I never felt connected with my skis. I felt I could have done even better had I really been dialed in with a freshly tuned pair of skis.

I really appreciate the layout and design of the course, I think it was the best course lay out all year. Lots of DNFs and DSQs. The course really punished skiers who were too aggressive and not clean. Some of those turns were probably too aggressive for that type and style of course. The two straight gates out of the start got me going much faster than I had anticipated and I was not quite high enough as a result on some of the gates. But many skiers were not even beginning their turns until getting to the gate and there were some pretty sensational traverses to save the run. My type of course.

wow, ga2ski must have been hurting for sure.

regardless, nice job riverc0il!

I certainly haven't been skiing any gates out here, but 4days straight so far (I fully intend to make it 7) ought to beat me into pretty decent shape.

Reminder: folks that Monday is our last regular season race. Assuming we make the finals as one of the top 5 teams on Monday (we are currently in 3rd or 4th depending on how you look at the numbers since the top and bottom scores are dropped), we will race again on Thurday 3/6.

See you monday. Have fun in the pow pow this weekend.
