Like legit terrain, then what the hell would illegitimate terrain be?

I refer to terrain as being legit all the time. Legit, as in the "real deal", "no joke", etc.

I think this is the only place you'll still hear the word "Rad" in use.

It's the Radical Movement! Actually, my buddy Joe and I have been using "radical" forever....soon after it become uncool to do so.

This thread is uber mad steezy yo.

Ha, that is a good one. There is nothing unique about lingo and phrases on this forum. Skiers all over the country use the same words and phrases. I think there is a certainly a tendency of more experienced skiers to use phrases that may come across as dismissive to less experienced or non "core" skiers, such as your example. I am trying to move beyond dissecting exacting meanings and splitting hairs on words, so I'll just say "it's all good" and leave it at that.

I think that deserves mention! ;)

But mad steeezy yo is something I've been saying for 2.5 years..I never knew what steeze was until I saw the poster Papasteeze on paskiandride.com using it..steeze is a combination of style and ease..

I like to say mad applesauce when referring to mushy snow
mad sweet and low when referring to sugar/granuler snow
and mad goldilocks when referring to a perfect ski day or perfect temperatures..not to hot..not to cold..just right...Mo'Jito on PASR doesn't say steezy..he says skeezy..which was used in Mean Girls as something that was gross or groddy..I have alot of fun at

www.urbandictionary.com

I have gotten to like the term steezy. It makes me think of this older guy who was doing demos on Salomon shaped skis at the Canyons a bunch of years ago. He was clearly a life-long skier though not as inclined to power his skis around as he had been. I got on whatever ski it was and tried to hammer it. He had a polite way of reminding me that I should just relax and ride the ski. Steeze. This guy had it.

It is awfully hard to be steezy on froguls and packed chowda.

Yeah, www.urbandictionary.com is one of the sweetest sites on the web. I'd even say it is slightly better than AlpineZone. When I'm bored I just love to look up random words and find the most vulgar and disgusting definitions.

Here's a good one.
3. chair 31 up, 11 down
An uncommon sexual position, where the willing or usually unwilling participant is strapped into a lawn chair (the conventional method is duct tape but varied uses have included rope, electrical cords and Christmas lights.) The person is then flipped upside down and a hole is cut out of the seat, exposing the person's anus and/or genitalia, creating a make-shift glory hole for instant gratification. Common practice is to "chair" outside but the more bashful often commence the activity in the garage or pool house.

...and back on topic. No, I don't think we have our own dialect. Basically every other ski forum uses the same words. My guess is most mad extreme skiers like ourselves use the same language, even ones who have never even been on a forum (though that's probably not many).
