I challenge Les to a ski -off at Killington. Can't lose that one. Any time you can pencil it in. Merci

Ski for a cheeseburger to be paid next Thursday.

I worked for him for 20+ years and did loose a lil coin on ASC.
Not the first time he's tried.
That being said I bet Les wouldd win if he was running for Gov in NH.

Best read out there on the corporate destruction of skiing and small town America.

One cannot knock him for what he did accomplish and his impact on the ski industry. He certainly greatly improved Sugarbush. Same with Sunday River. I would be curious to know what Pres Smith really thought about the fact that he dumped a backwoods Maine ski area with surface lifts onto his protege only to have said protege come back and buy out SKI.

Exactly...
Don't forget Attitash. The Bear Peak addition was HUGE in 92
and The Loaf.... all benefitted immensely from their ASC days.

Great guy, lousy poker player :)

The “hotel rooms” being owned…not sure if it’s the same situation but I stayed at something like that at Loon a bunch of years ago. Last minute decision and, once I entered the room, it was clear it had a bunch of personal touches, which I did not like.

Wasn’t The Balsams one of the grand hotels in NH in the glory days? Seems like a weird setup for a hotel like that.

That aside, gotta hand it to LO for hanging in there. I’d never have the motivation.

Yes it was. But pretty far out there to be a wholly resort owned hotel today. Depending g on what the HOA rules are, this could be more standardized units without much allowance for personal touches. All depends how the deeds/covenants are set up.
