Yes maybe all the people on A zone should put money in and buy this snowy hill in the Cats and reopened it for skiing and snowboarding almost 2000 feet of awesome vertical, we came so close if 9/11 didn't happen I be skiing their this winter. I hope it is sold to someone who loves winter.

690 acres is just over a square mile. That's only a fraction of the mountain, not even half of the northeast face. If you wanted to build a ski area on it, it would have to be a long narrow one. It does sound like the property includes the summit.

Because it's a beautiful mountain that you can ski RIGHT NOW without having to put up hotels and stuff...

I get that but if really could help the area financial wise, and chair lifts we in all honestly need another place to go in winter because it would make weekend warriors have better snow conditions at their favorite hills.

Here we go again. Bearpen has never been and never will be close to opening since they got booted out in the first place. Wildcat, lifts and all sold for like half just the asking price of the land here.

Long and narrow... Sounds good to me

Is this the place that has a skinny t bar line to the top that can still be skied?

Personally, I'd love to see a large new ski resort in the Catskills that draws 400K skier visits a year. Great for the local economy down there and it would take some pressure off the very crowded VT areas.

I believe it was a rope tow line, and I think there are two. Some guys have been going up there regularly on ATVs and either clearing the old runs or thinning glades, or maybe both. See Sikskier's link.

Well, to give you some idea, the Wildcat ski area would fit nicely into a rectange of 690 acres. Bearpen isn't as steep overall, so for the full vertical it would have to be a bit narrower than Wildcat.
