So after waffling between Cannon and Magic I ended up heading to the Beast. Got out later than I wanted and when I hit Greenfield it was already 8:30 so I decided I wanted to get on skis asap. I was also thinking about wanting to be home early since a friend was watching my kids.
Anyway they got a foot plus there, but there's no base to the natural trails. Since they only seem to have a little tiny sign saying a trail is closed I poached a few and it was rocks and grass to knee deep and then back to rocks and grass lol. Had a good time and talked to a patroler on the way up. He pretty much said ski where you want, but don't make me come get you. lol Liftline was good, but got skied off fast. I lapped Competition for the most part, the wind was loading skiers right with snow all day with boot top deep. My run of the day was probably a poach down grizzly, the top was all grass, the middle was sweet with knee deep in spots. Still had to watch out for rocks, water bars, etc ... I can see how sweet the place will be with a better base going.
