Beginner Skier - any mountain recommendations?

Thanks for the replies. I'm from the Hartford area. How is the night skiing at Southington? Maybe I can get some practice after work...

Sundown has a number of nice green trails off the summit, as well as a separate learning area. The summit greens do empty out into Exhibition which is classified a blue though. It's not overly steep but can be a little crowded as all trails except Gunbarrel converge there. A great night skiing option which is a good way to get a lot of skiing if you have a busy schedule. They have a reasonable pick-a-night pass option:

$188 and you can ski one night a week all season. Many AZers will be meeting there on Wednesday nights.

Butternut was another great suggestion. A lot of gentle terrain there; cheap season pass. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I took the day off Friday and a buddy also has it off. We're going to wait to see what's open on Friday, maybe Mohawk if they're open. If not we're heading North...
