Belleayre NY - 3/30/06 (sweet pics)
Date(s) Skied: 3/30/06
Resort or Ski Area: Belleayre, NY
Conditions: Wet packed powder, spring, slush, etc...
Trip Report: Today was awesome. Belleayre was pretty much empty and The skies were blue and sunny. Decided it would be a good day to have some fun. Skied most of the day with shorts and a t-shirt although the t-shirt came off after lunch.
The bumps were where it was at. Almost any trail with bumps was soft and slow enough to keep your speed in check.
Maybe the only problem was that Lift #7 is down for the season, so accessing some of the trails was a minor hike. No biggie.
Happened to stop at the gas station at the base of the mountain and decided to buy a cape. Thats right- a cape. Skiing with a flowing cape is awesome.
Also found one of the orange bamboo lollipops the patrollers use to mark a hazard laying on the ground. Since it was obstructing the trail, I took it and used it as a lurk. A lurck is for tele skiers to use in place of a pole. It's kind of like kayak paddling down the mountain. Wow what a fun day. Here's some pics:
Here me nailing a sweet cross.
Here is me skiing.
Here is my friend pulling a weird trick that looks awesome anyway.
