Dawn Bauer, the Marketing Director at Belleayre, has agreed to take the AlpineZone Ski Area Challenge! This is your chance to get official answers to your ski-related questions direct from a Northeast ski resort representative! Please post some suggested questions in this thread and we'll select ten to present for official responses.

Also please don't be offended if we edit/change your question for grammar, tone, or some other minor thing. In order to get in all of the questions we MAY merge some questions but we'll do our best to keep the substance of your question. If we don't get your question in, feel free to post a follow up after we get the results...we are encouraging the representatives follow the threads.

As always, please be respectful of Dawn and keep it civil. Also, please refrain from asking specifics about skier visit numbers, financials, demographic information, etc. Belleayre needs to be discrete about certain information.

Ask away!

This is THE LAST stop on our tour...we're contacting other resorts to see if they're interested, thanks for your enthusiasm and great questions!

HERE are some items about Belleayre and HERE are Dawn's responses from last year.

Here are my questions:

1) Your website says that you are developing a new trail under the Tomahawk liftline. I visited your beautfiul mountain on July 30th and I did not see any clearing done under the liftline, have you started work on this already?

2) Where will the two new glades be located?

3) There was talk about converting some lifts to high speed quads, will this be happening anytime soon?

4) How confident do you feel that Belleayre wil open on the published opening day of November 5th?

Any chance that Belleayre will buy the old Highmount ski area and make it part of their resort?

I was kayaking on the Esophus last weekend and saw the damage that the floods of last spring had incured on roads and bridges.

Did Belleayre receive any damage from the flooding?, and how was Belleayre able to help the flood victims?

Reminiscing about Bellayre

Do you or anyone there have any recollections of a kids area at Bellayre called "Lollipop Bridge". I actually learned to ski there as a very little kid (like 2 or 3)and have some very vague recollections of a place by that name. It would have been in the mid-60's. I think I even remember competing in a thing called the "Lollipop Olympics". Am I crazy or did it really exist.

Leave it to Eric to be the first marketing person to ask a question in another mountain's challenge!
