I recently won two tickets to Belleayre, I have never been there and I can’t find any recent trip reports. Since it’s almost March I think I had better use them soon. Any info would be appreciated.

When you see Bellayre on your left, keep driving and go to Plattekill. Actually scratch that the warm weather will probably put a beating on what has thus been a great season so far for Plattekill. Bellayre is always a sure bet for good March skiing in the Catskills, but if you have an extra day while your up there check out Plattekill too, its 20 mins down the road.

Skied at Belleayre 2/20 and the snow conditions were terrific. It was windy, but we had a truly fun day. Never skied there before last year -- ended up going 4 times, but really have enjoyed it. Its a wonderful place on a sunny spring day. Arrive early, park in the upper lot, ski Superchief until it gets crowded and then move across the mountain to Chair 7 and Tomahawk.

I was there this past sunday 2-22 and had an awesome powder day. Belleayre is a small mountain but you can have a great day there. really feels like it skis bigger than it actually is because it;s got alot of reasonably long, winding trails.

pay attention to the weather report-for some reason this resort and plattekill gets lake effect snow when Hunter and Windham get nothing.

Well, my week at Stowe, got bumped down to 4 days at Mt Snow, because my wife couldn't get off a full week from work, and then yesterday she tells me that she's flying to Dallas on Sunday, and won't be home until 10:30-11ish on Wednesday night (there goes Mt. Snow). So now I'm thinking about doing a Catskills tour. Belleayre, Hunter & Windham so I hope the conditions will be good there the 2d week of March

did you miss this one... mine from 2/24

blew off work for my birthday freebee at bellayre. i'm sept 24th so they match that in Feb. skiing for for free always makes for a good day, not that it would have mattered, great conditons... soft bumps all over, lotsa snow on most trails. mostly skied the tomahawk lift.. Dot Nebel was great and good snow amounts for that trail considering... below tomahawk lift was fun .. good snow and not that touched by noon. peekamoose, algonquin, mohawk, wanatuska, were good steeps with decent snow early, blowing snow on belleayre run... blinding, one and done. .. seneca bumps were good, soft, as were utsayantha. yahoo, and onteroa... i can only do one pass on these as my left knee will scream... don't you remember that blue 32 off tackle on 3, 25 years ago? never did much on the other side, did onandaga for a warm up... ok. never got to cathedral brook as i concentrated on the other side. got home and inhaled a saranac ale... ahhhh

i'm sure with the rain it's a bit different now but still a cool little mountain to ski. lotsa deals throughout the year. hopefully some snow this weekend and maybe a good one monday if it tracks the right way. that mountain does get the lake effect when hunter and windam do not.

Wow - a plug!

I haven't been posting much because I have been making the tour of NY state ski areas as a ski racer dad.

I am at West Mt. this weekend. It is a nice little local mountain. The groomed terrain was good, despite the rain yesterday. Unfortunately, there was only a few of those. But it was a beautiful day & they ran their event expertly.

Last weekend I was at Hunter. It was a great weekend - one sunny day and one day of fresh 6 inches. Too bad there were some long lines.

Speaking of Hunter - I have an unlimited Hunter Mountain lift ticket voucher good through March 30 and don't think I am going to be able to use it -
It says "non transferable" and "not for resale or auction".
Lucky I wasn't going to try to iron it onto any of my clothing, but I would be willing to mail it to anyone for $25 postage (paypal). Message me here on AZ if interested.

I just drove back from West Mountain with my racing kid - I should have holed up near Belleayre tonight because everything - kid's school, my work - is already closed tomorrow! Crap@! I could have done it if she wasn't so anxious to get back to her damn computer... kidz! :smash:
