I love the glades with knee deep powder. I try to find the glades and do them when there open. I was wondering what your favorite glades are. Even if they arn't open much. Mine are probobly either the Everglade (Jay) Summit Glades (Sunapee) or Kitz (Jay). I wish I had more oppurtunities to ski big glade mountains like MRG or Stowe. I have never hit K-mart or Okemo anyday the glades were open.

The Summit Glades at Sunapee are never open, sorry to say. :(

Favorite glades for me include: Marshland, Sasqwatch, Little Chief, and the old Scooby Doo at Burke.

Cannon: Mittersill!

I've Skiied Glades at:

Sunapee: Summit Glades, Dare Ya
Cannon: Turnpike Glades
Okemo: Whistler, the GROOMED GLADE!
Smuggs: Red Fox Glades, 3 Mtn Glades, Norwegian Glades, Highlander Glades
MRG: Upper Glades

I'll go with Red Fox and 3 Mtn at Smuggs for now. They're the only ones I skied in good conditions, plus you can ski them in the same run. And about Whistler, that is no lie, it is a groomed glade. Only at Okemo.

I'm not huge into glades, but I used to love Paradise at the Bush. I heard that is getting real thinned out??? We used to take the hike over to the Church area from the top. All fo that terrain was great.

I can't pick a favorite at Jay, there are so many.

Similarly w/MRG.

Upper Nightmare is certainly near the top of the list.

In the West, some of my favorites are in NM. Taos, while know for the chutes, has some great tree skiing and Santa Fe has acres of great stuff for such a small area.

Upper Nightmare Glades

Nice well spaced glade with tons of room to move, terrain features, rock hops, and holds powder very well. Nice selection. Jay, Burke, and MRG have the best glades that I have skied on the map. Though I have seen pictures of some stuff on Mansfield that is to die for. Northern Vermont has the combination of ideal trees, spacing, and powder to make for the best glades, there really is no competition, the location sets NoVT apart and into another league from glades in the rest of New England.

Valhalla at Jay, Paradise at SB.. For MRG I don't know what I'd stick up there. I've only skied there a few times, and haven't developed a favorite glade. Trail-wise I think Fall Line is my favorite, and the trail itself has a few trees, but that obviously doesn't count.

For the glades that are on the map:

Jay - Beaver Ponds, Timbucktoo
MRG - Paradise, Gazelle Glades
Stowe - Chinclip Glade, Nosedive Glade
Sunday River - Flying Monkey, Blind Ambition

For the glades that are not on the map:

That would be cheating.

Paradise isn't a glade unless you consider all of the unmarked woods next to it (which technically isn't Paradise and is far from my favorite)

I was considering at least some of the woods off the trail to skier's left. There's some point where I'd say I've traversed out far enough that I'd no long think of it as Paradise.
