I live in Waltham, 5 minutes from 128. I know i can make it to loon within 2 hours, if that is any reference to how fast I drive.

Trees and generally more challenging terrain (if that is possible within 2 hours). Not really sure what is around, I grew up skiing in Maine so I haven't really explored New Hampshire Mountains. (except Loon and I know I don't want to go there)

Cannon has the best terrain, challenge, and trees within two hours of Boston. It has been a while since the last storm, so right now trees at Cannon may not be skiing the best (and may perhaps even suck). With the incoming storm, you can plan on not being able to get to any major mountain within two hours due to road conditions... especially road conditions down in MA (and I can say that as a former Mass resident).

With the combination of this storm and your two hour drive requirement and desire for trees, Ragged Mountain in NH may be a good option. Nothing steep at Ragged but they do have good trees when they have snow. Though they will likely only get a few inches from this system it looks like.

You are pretty close to Route 2 in Waltham, so if you would be willing to extend your drive to three hours (normally less but with snow it is going to be at least three), Magic might be worth considering or perhaps Berkshire East in the 2.5 hour range with the snow. Go where the most snow falls if you want the best conditions, it is what I try to do.

All the forecasts and analysis I've inspected show a steep dropoff when you get to mid-state. Deepest accums will be in so. VT and So. NH (from a skiing perspective). I'd suggest pointing towards SVT.

Might be adventageous to hit something further south as it appears to be where the most snow will fall from this storm (I use the term loosely).
