So once again... the question of night skiing? Any major resorts in VT have it? Dont think Gore/Whiteface have it.

Right now I am leaning towards Gore, for the skiing. =) But within the next two weeks when the group is finalized, depending on the amount of new people and their prefrence may go to VT... Sugarloaf looks great...but 9 hours from ny/nj is just pushing it.

what shape will the snow be in on New years? Unless they have aggressive snow making (don't know), it could be dicey.....

Both Gore/WF step up their resurfacing for the holidays and offer plenty of snowmaking capacity. I'd give the edge to Gore for quality of snow surface, especially for an intermediate. Gore does a great job of dispersing skiers. It should be even better with the addition of Burnt Ridge.

Gore Mountain has the Ski Bowl which, while really small, has night skiing. It also offers tubing as well.

Stowe, Sugarbush, Smuggs, they will all be in the same boat as whiteface that time of year. I know our snomaking keeps up to theirs. If the weather is sour can those hills provide the off mountain experience?

Killington, or anything south of you dont get the big mountain experience.
