Hmmm Hunter Hmmm.. The article does say some nice things about the place. It is for a few days and they said the condos are still under construction any other lodging choices.

Alot depends on your goals. I believe the overall kid entertainment is impotant and that is what I use to choose where to go. I put my kids in Lessons at Loon and I have been very satified. At night I go to Waterville for the resort village any things to do. IF I was looking to stay one place I would Suggest Waterville, yes it gets busy, but it is all about families. I have heard great things about Smugglers Notch in Vermont also. www.waterville.com www.smuggs.com. here are the lincs. Have fun

Smuggler's Notch has always had a good reputation for kid programs. Burke has its own beginners area, which is of decent size and their ski school is good. I don't know if you are looking for a destination resort or not, but Pat's has good kids programs as does Blue Hills and the like.

I have two kids, 8 & 6 and they've been skiing for three years now. We always put them in ski school, works great for the entire family! Here are my opinions on the places we've been.

Cameback-good
Windham-Not so good
Loon-very good
Whiteface-excellent
Jiminy Peak-excellent

Belleayre

Belleayre Mountain has a great kids program and a beginner's area which is (more or less) totally separated from the rest of the mountain. I've also heard good things about Smuggler's Notch (already mentioned).

I have three kids in the Waterville Seasonal program; absolutely superb! When we have friends visit, their kids go into the "Kids Kamps" with, thus far, universally excellent experiences. Also, lots of other family oriented stuff to do in the resort such as Ice Skating, Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides, fireworks on Saturday Nites, Swimming, etc.

We should hook up sometime. I bring my family into the fireworks usually, I did the sleigh ride New Years' Eve. Has become a family tradition. I think we will go the 29th. I think that is the next time. Funny little thing the tile they have in the hut at the top of the quad on the tables .. the green is what I put in my bathroom and the redish orange is what I put in my kitchen. They must have gone to the same sale.

Yes, please do file a trip report here. Smuggs has a large presence with families and international folk, but in ski chatrooms they are barely mentioned. It has some decent terrain for experts as well, but the lifts are pretty slow (all doubles). I've never been, so I look forward to your take
