I'll be going Friday 10am-2pm, and Saturday 1:30pm-5pm. I'll be working a booth for my ski league.

Went last night, seemed very similar to previous years. Very few freebies seemed to be offered. Killington had their typical scratch tickets, of which all I got was a free beast coaster ride, which is fine for me as I would never pay for that anyway, but I'll be up there to give it a ride. I don't really go to it for deals anymore, as with the Maxpass I already have my lift tickets for the year. Its just nice to go and stroll around to get in the skiing mood. A few interesting things I noticed were:

Sunday River completely trying to hide the spruce peak lift issues, as this seasons trail map has the lift on it with no mention of it not being open this year.

Sunapee said that they are ready to expand the cataract area of the mountain with lift (I'm assuming either used old sunbowl or current north peak) next year. They said the west bowl expansion is probably 3 years out due to permitting.

Jay Peak trying to make it seem as though things are back to normal. They said in the past that the mountain only dealt with operating budgets and had no knowledge of how the EB5 money was being used or managed. They put the whole blame on Quiros, and seem to be towing the Stenger line of having no clue what was going on with the money, and that they had no inclinations of the problems prior to the SEC showing up at their front door. They were happy about the receiver giving them a larger operating budget this year than in previous years.

With multi mountain passes now, the mountains no longer seem to be pushing discount cards as much. Also there seem to be more lodging only deals offered for those that do not need ski stay packages, of which I took advantage of for one night at Stratton.

How frequently was K doing scratch tickets?

Sounds pretty standard overall. Funny about SR and Jay both.

Hey if any one else is going, stop buy The Ride and Ski Card booth and tell them or at least Jeff, Dave said hi!

BTW the focus at the Colorado show was mostly about lodging!

Every 2 hours I think, they had a line set up so that you only could get one scratch ticket, unlike previous years where I got a whole stack of them.

last year we got shirts or lift tickets almost everytime. Then again I worked the show so I was there every day. We ended up with 5 shirts and 2 pico lift tickets, and 4 Killington lift tickets and 2 were early or late season. Two others that I knew won seasons passes. It is a feeding frenzy for sure!

Who has two thumbs and will give you an extra free lift ticket of his choice if you come see him at the Boston.com Ski & Snowboard Expo? Come see Jeff, tell him Dave sent you.

Just got back from the show in town. Ended up scoring a free lift ticket to ragged this winter. So for the $12 I paid I think it was worth it. Also got some free rice. ImageUploadedByAlpineZone1478891528.522996.jpg

I got 2 weekday tix to ragged also 2 2fer's. Also got 2 tix to gunstock. Picked up 2 sunday-fri tix for Pico for 49. Magic had a four pack for 159 that piqued my interest but didn't pull the trigger. Also those Bolton 4 for 100.

I also go a number 6 free liftie to Ragged, twofer at Magique and bought a two day weekend over Presidents weekend at Burke for 4 (three days skiing and two overnights) for 599+tax. Scratchoff at K was just a mountain coaster, oh well. Met this guy tooImageUploadedByAlpineZone1478905336.386045.jpg

Going on Saturday PM.

I signed up for a drawing at the Anderson Booth about 10 years ago. "no obligation". I told them we put all new windows in last year (pretty close to it) Yeah, I sure won. I've won 10 years of getting phone calls, mail, email still trying to sell me windows I don't need. Just say no.
