I've been looking at buying beginner skis, and one I've seen as Rossi Actys 100's. They sound right for my level, but they all come with the Axium 100 binding, which states it has an upper weight limit of 210 lbs. Number one, I've never seen a binding with a weight limit before - is this a fluke? Second, am I nuts to spring for another set of bindings that don't have this limit?

I have never heard that for that binding, and even if you wanted, you couldnt put a different binding on that ski. It has whats called a integrated binding, and a certain binding must be used with that ski.

(I see no mention of weight on Rossi's website.)

Thanks - being new to this I wasn't aware of things like integrated bindings. There wasn't a lot of info I could see on the Rossi site, I've actually just seen the weight mention on sites that are selling the ski, like Altrec, etc.

My first skis had some marker bindings on them that were only recommended to about 70lbs less than I weighed at the time and I never had any problems with them. I plan on using them again if I find a cheap pair of used skis with no bindings on them.
