Resort or Ski Area: Black Mountain Maine
Conditions: "Chunky" Froz Gran
Trip Report: Well, not the best day I ever had condition wise... but we had planned a company outing at Black Mountain in Maine. So while the conditions were marginal the company on the slopes was very fun. Great to ski with some others.
Got to the hill a bit past 9. Conditions were pretty marginal. Lots of Frozen Granular in various sized chunks. Oh well... it is still downhill and skiing. They buffed out a couple of closed trials and open them mid-day... so the first runs down these trials were quite good considering.
The wife and Boy #1 rented snowboards for part of the day. No problem on the bunny hill... still working on getting in the toe-side edge on the bigger slopes. The firm conditions made falling a bit tricky.
We still had lots of fun. Black is a great place. No lines - great lodge and very good cruisers to rip down.
