Plus it gets him his 30 second clip on all the Hartford area TV stations each year ;)

Generally it seems like the Hartford area stations do the following.

First cold - Woodbury segment

Good Snowstorm - Sundown segment

January Thaw - Mt. Southington Segment (used to go 50/50 with Powder Ridge for this one it seemed like)

Mohawk just plain and simple got ignored by the Hartford stations due to it's geographic isolation ;)

I don't really watch the news, so I wouldn't know. I do know for sure though that various news crews were at Sundown on multiple occasions last year. One time they were there on a Saturday morning before I got there to start do my pre-operational checks on the lifts in preparation for opening up (a good hour before the mountain opens). I specifically remember being rather confused when I was driving in and saw the trail lights on. That and they were sorta in my way...

Look Movement!!!

Rod doesn't think too much. Although I do admire is motivation to blow snow before the big boys every year.

The red piece of equipment has moved! What is Rod doing?? When will he make his first move?

This will be more fun in a few weeks...it's 72 degrees right now. It would be funny though if they made anything at Woodbury with the trees 100% green in the background of that cam shot.

Odd weather. We turned the heat on the other night to take the chill out of the air...last night, we opened the window. I  New England.

I saw this over at K-zone. Looks like they are getting down to the short strokes. Hopefully we'll see some action soon to bump the Jones factor another notch!:snow:

I was up at Mt Snow this weekend...daytime highs in the 60's! It did get down into the 30's at night. Not your typical October weather. But looks like things may get cooler at the end of this week.

LOTS of hose hooked up all over the Mount Snow too. Getting down to the end of all the fan gun installs and associated electrical work. Won't be long now :) :snow:

As seen at Fall festival this past weekend, the Low E Guns are in place and ready for valves to be flipped at Sunday River.

Here's to hoping another day of skiing in my Tigger costume on Halloween.

this weekend looks promising for mount snow or killington to fire up

It has been very warm for the last few weeks at Killington. It poured yesterday. There is little point in making snow if the ground is not frozen when it's supposed to be warm again on Monday followed by seasonal temperatures with some rain.
