Blue 2/20/10 - Corn & The VIP Line!

Conditions: Spring like, sunny, crowded

Trip Report: Wow, what an awesome day at Blue. I started off the day skiing with AtomicJeff, GSS, Toast, M-bike Mike, Eugene, then later in the day wound up ripping up laps with Tarponhead.. I'm sure I'm missing a few people as well. Lost of PASR/AZ'rs at Blue today. Soft snow in the AM turned into spring like corn between 11-2. It was insanely crowded but the VIP line at the HSQ was empty. Like consistently empty or only1-2 people in front of you. We were starting to feel guilty on all the corn we could get. Conditions were so nice, I skied until just about 3pm. There was no run of the day. Everything was great. Lazy into Falls was a blast however. Lapped that many times. It was a great day to be alive, just ripping endless laps off the HSQ with Tarponhead.

Oh, I found out that those are only the practice bumps and kicker. Those will be mowed down and made even bigger for the bump comp.

Looks like Blue had much the same crowds as Camelback. Sat Camelback did 14,000 and I would bet Sunday some where in the neighborhood of 10,000. We didn't see much in the way of corn as the surface stayed firm but nice and not icy. Snow was holding up well even with the traffic. Looks like the Pocono's will be riding a thin line in this next weather event.

Any of the Blue crew be up there Friday (daytime)? Looking Blue Friday, Elk Saturday and Camelback Sunday. Go Pocono snow

I'm sore from the bumps yesterday. That and trying to keep up with Root.

Skied main st bumps for about a 1/2 dozen runs after Root departed on Sunday. They were unbelievably good.

nice, i was looking for ya staurday morning although i didn't have my son with me - he got a call to goaltend a hockey game so being the responsible parent that i am i found him a ride while mrs snobunski and i skiid 8) try again this coming saturday?

Taking the boys and nephew to Hunter this Saturday. I know Zack is pumped to watch the upcoming bump comp. Maybe then?
