Hey All,

I'm back from a fun session at Blue mountain. I rocked out to some TI on the drive up and pulled into the lower lot at 3:23PM. The temperature was 31 degrees and there were a moderate amount of cars..maybe 200. As I got to the top of the 6-pack I saw a line of about 40 people waiting at the top of Paradise and a couple groomers were just cresting the hill near the top so I got soft fresh cord my first run. I then skied Dreamweaver which was really nice except for the corner which was slick. There's no slow sign at the bottom of Dreamweaver...just a trails merging sign which makes a good GS gate. I then skied fresh cord on Lazy Mile followed by more fresh cord on Switchback..I'm glad at least for today..they brought back twice daily grooming..it makes a huge difference. The groomers were also working on the halfpipe.

Razors edge was OK and there's enough snow that the far right side on the upper headwall is ski-able..kind of technical since it hasn't been groomed or skied by anybody but fun. Lazy Mile and Paradise had the best conditions..the lower park had lots of little divots..I think they blew on that early this morning by all the sticky slow areas. It then started freezing rain around 445PM..first just light then heavy with sleet pellets mixed in. In 4-5 runs, I was totally crispy with ice from head to toe and my goggles also had a thick coating of ice. Around 520PM I had enough but the groomers from the Halfpipe went up Lazy Mile so for my last run in the heavy freezing rain, I had fresh cord yet again..wow..a nice session for sure even though I only skied 12 runs.

When I left Blue it was 28 degrees with freezing rain. The freezing rain continued until I got to Whitehall..then the roads weren't even wet. Anyway it was nice to have the runs to myself and definitely a fun session...I should be back tomorrow afterwork..
