Hey All,

I'm back from Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 740AM and the temperature was 27 degrees with the snowguns blowing on Razors edge. Me and Nastar Glenn were on the first chair and they were still grooming challenge so our first run was on Paradise. The snow was good..a little sticky but smooth. Then we skied Challenge which was nice on the top 1/3 and then really chunky..Homestretch was a combination of ice, chunks and sticky wet manmade Poe. Atomic Jeff overslept and joined us for our 3rd liftride. We skied Paradise some more then Lazy Mile and Main Street..Barneys bumps had sticky manmade snow with solid ice underneath..pretty technical. M-Bike Mike and Librider then joined us..I also met GirlsRideHarder but didn't ski with her because she was on duty on Park Crue.

Crowds were fairly light for a Holiday..no liftlines more than 3 minutes but the quad was also running so the trails were pretty conjested. Lazy Mile turned into crazy mile and Paradise turned into alot of chunky ice. We also skied one run on Burma which had pretty nice conditions. Conditions overall were pretty bad..it seems like they waited until the last minute to groom and they did a pretty bad job of grooming. Hopefully the snow will dry out alot today and tonight and conditions will be better tomorrow..I think it's supposed to rain tomorrow. It was a fun day with alot of goofiness. In total I skied 17 runs off the 6-pack for 17,850 vertical feet. By the time I left the runs were too crowded for me to ski the way I like to ski..Tucking through a crowd of nubs is fun but once there's more than 75 people on one section of lazy mile..it gets insane..

After skiing, me, A-Jeff and Librider hit up the Blue mountain drive inn..the fresh sausage was great!!!! It was fun skiing with everybody we even had some random dude named Clint get on the lift with us and he introduced himself to everybody and I said my name was Juan and he said,"Hey Warren"...but he didn't want to do a tuck run down Paradise..and I didn't end up tucking it because there were two redcoats by the slow sign..it's too early in the season to be put in the ski area database..

BMDI sounds like the best part of the trip...:) at least the sun held out.

The BMDI was packed..here is the play by play....I ordered 2 fried eggs over medium with fresh sausage and rye toast..no potatoes..A-Jeff went light with 2 poached eggs and toast..and Librider who was a BMDI virgin had an omelette sandwich on an English Muffin with bacon and steeze...Due to larger crowds and slower service..I had like 4 cups of coffee..by the time I got home I was buzzin from the brew...JEA!!!!!

Blue lost Christmas eve...today had mediocre crowds for a Holiday although still a shitshow on the trails..and this weekend it's supposed to be warm and rainy..so it doesn't look like Blue is going to have as strong attendance during these Holidays as it seemed a week ago when we had two snowstorms in a 3 day period..oh well..they'll make the $$$ Martin Luther King weekend, with school groups and Presidents weekend.

Tubing opened today...with a deep base..some primo tubing conditions..and I wonder if the new tubing lodge/tent is ready..

wow, sounds like Blue got hit hard with the weather lately.

They need to groom at half the speed and double as many passes..if they blow snow up until 7:30AM and groom the snow at hyper speed..it's gonna be chunky..they need to let the snow cure...Snowmaking/Grooming 101...Sunday looks like the best conditions of the weekend..no death cookies when it's in the 50s..mad applesauce..

Tomorrow's gonna be a slow day anyway. Bringing the wife and nephew, both for the 1st time this season.
