Hey all,
I'm back from a short session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at 3:30PM and the temperature was in the lower 40s with sunshine. Most of the lower lot was filled with cars and there were alot of people everywhere. I got scanned in and I saw Shadows and Matt Stunt in line for the 6-pack. I joined them and the wait was about 5-6 minutes in the regular line..VIP line for the 6-pack was a little shorter. I did a Sidewinder park run with them and saw Stevo on his snowmobile ready to fix some features. The snow in the park was sugary, icy, and grabby..not good at all..solid ice is better than what the conditions were. Matt-Stunt and Shady Shadows still busted out some mad steezy tricks on the boxes, rails, and booters. I didn't see anybody on the big mo-fo booter which is even bigger than it was last season. Another ride up the 6-pack with the jibhonks and then I hit Challenge. The top was solid ice and the rest was deep sugar..so fun..lol..NOT...
I rode the quad which had a shorter line than the 6-pack and then skied Razors which was scraped off on the top and then sugar. The view of Razors Edge from the quad showed some major carnage..it was like watching a Warren Miller bloopers DVD..One out of control dude on straight skis ate some serious shit and luckily didn't end up in the woods. One thing about skiing that is dangerous is that you don't have to be good to go fast. After Razors I hit up Paradise..wow it was filled with people and yes..sugar and ice..mad sweet and low..no Redcoats at Johann corner.
I then skied Connector all the way over to Burma..I passed at least 75 people on Burma Road..the Ultimate Human Slalom..There were two ways to ski Burma..either ski the icy ruts or the sugary sections..I chose the deep sugar..since I was on my fat twin tips..I actually got some float..yes it was like skiing in powder.....NOT....Then a ride up the Burma chair where I saw a kid who couldn't have been 80 pounds get slammed into by a huge guy on Midway. The kid mircaculously got up OK and was feel at his head..maybe a concussion..although I'm sure his Jester hat shielded his skull from the 300 pound dude in a Steelers Jacket and Frozen jeans..It definitely got a bit chillier as the sun went down...aside from the poor snow conditions and epic crowds..there was a beautiful sunset..a good time to reflect on life before the lift stopped for the 8th time..doh..
I ended with a defensive run down Lazy/Crazy Mile to the falls to homestretch to my car..parked out in Kansas..lol... I skied a total of 6 runs in an hour and a half..2 on the 6-pack, 3 on the quad and one on the Burma chair..for a total of a whopping...6,140 vertical feet..darn my ears are still popping from all that vert..oh well..I'm psyched that I have off work Thursday and Friday which means 4 days in a row of first chairs..hell yeah...On the drive home I rocked out to some rap music and perfected a new dance move which is part Harlem Shake, bought The Twist and bought brush your shoulders off..it's a dance move that is entirely from the waist up and perfect for busting out in traffic..JEA!!!!!!....
